The program was hosted by Cai Xukun, with Lisa, Jony J, and Ella Chen serving as mentors. It featured 109 female trainees from various entertainment companies, who were voted on by viewers. The nine contestants with the highest number of votes in the final episode debuted as members of the girl group The9.
